Television Shows:

  1. The Incredible Dr. Pol: This show follows Utrecht School of Veterinary Medicine alum, Dr. Jan Pol at his practice in the state of Michigan. The show features both companion and large animals. Of course, certain aspects of the field have been sensationalized for TV, so take everything with a grain of salt.

  2. The Supervet: Fitzpatrick Referrals is a specialty clinic located in Surrey, England, and the show follows its creator and head veterinarian, Noel Fitzpatrick as he performs cutting-edge orthopedic surgeries on small and companion animals. Once again, many aspects of the show have been sensationalized for TV.

  3. Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet: Follow this Canadian-based vet who works both on companion animals and wildlife in the Canadian province Yukon, and even making treks to Alaska for farm calls. This show caters more toward those interested in wildlife or zoological medicine, but again, this is reality TV so take everything with a grain of salt.

  4. Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER: This show follows exotics and wildlife vet, Dr. Kelleher in her practice in South Florida, where she treats an abundance of exotics animals including birds, reptiles, and small mammals, as well as wildlife and zoo animals. The same caveat: this is reality TV so some aspects may be sensationalized.
